Suzi & Caleb Wedding Celebration | Loveland, Colorado

Suzi & Caleb had a beautiful wedding day on Saturday! The venue was the outdoor amphitheater at the Loveland Civic Center and Foote Lagoon, and we took portraits in downtown Loveland.

Saturday morning dawned with a cloudless blue sky and a very bright, intense sun. On my way to the wedding festivities, I just breathed a quick prayer, "Oh Lord, please let it cloud over a little!" As you may know, cloudy weather creates for some of the best lighting for portraiture. When it's bright and sunny, you have to deal with alot of harsh lighting and shadows. Wouldn't you know, by the time we started taking portraits, the sky was almost completely clouded over!! God was SO good to give us such good lighting for portraits.

I had such a great time photographing Suzi & Caleb. They made my job so easy— their energy, their zeal for life, and their love for each other was just amazing.

Their wedding had a vintage, retro theme and they played '40s swing music during the reception. It was great!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. McKnight!

Absolutely gorgeous wedding and couple! I love their theme :)
And she has dreamy eyes!
Oh yes, I've learned about harsh sunlight and how awesome clouds are!! I was wishing for some cloud cover when we had the pics taken at the wedding we were in. It was high noon by the time we really got going and the lighting just wasn't that conductive for good portraits. The shade ones turned out nicely though. :)

I like doing early morning portraits in the summer; lighting is good then!
